5 Cheap Places To Visit In Europe That Are Almost Free
A lot of people get the impression that Europe is expensive. But, it doesn’t have to be. With plenty of cheap places to visit in Europe and with low-cost European flights, it’s easy to have an inexpensive vacation. Here are my tips for the cheap places to visit in Europe.
5 Cheap Places To Visit In Europe That Are Almost Free
1. Krakow, Poland
The old city of Krakow has lots of charm and the local culture is definitely worth exploring. The hostels, bars, and restaurants are cheap, and it’s known as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. You can drink the tap water and you can travel easily on a € 25-€ 30 budget per day. You can also use the city’s bikes to get around.
2. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is the capital of Hungary and is ranked as “the world’s second best city” by Condé Nast Traveler. There are around 80 geothermal springs and the Parliament building is the third largest in the world. Low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair offer cheap rates to travel to Budapest. Stay away from eating on the expensive “Vaci utca” pedestrian street which is really just a tourist trap. You can often explore the city on foot.
3. Český Krumlov, Czech Republic
Český Krumlov has a lot of beauty at an affordable price. This small, storybook town is only 3 hours from Prague, and is not just a cheap place to visit in Europe but is also a UNESCO world heritage site. There are many pensions with affordable rates for family sized rooms, and the restaurants are very affordable.
4. Sofia, Bulgaria
Sofia is often known as Europe’s cheapest capital to visit. Cab fare costs less than $1 a mile, and you can attend an outdoor opera performance for less than $10. There are dozens of lovely parks in this city which are free to roam around in and watch live entertainment. July is the cheapest month to visit.
5. Prague, Czech Republic
Eating and drinking in Prague are very inexpensive, and if you stay away from the overpriced tourist traps, you can have an affordable visit. Museums and art galleries often have times you can visit for free, you can take your own free walking tour, and go on picnics in the beautiful parks. The off-season has great hotel deals, and many of the hotels offer complimentary breakfasts.
Most of people haven’t heard about Český Krumlov in Czech Republic. It is must see place. So beautiful every part of lovely town.

You’d have to add Berlin to that list.
It remains one of the best value for money destinations in Europe, and in some parts can also be cheaper than some of the places you’ve listed above. For instance, stay in central Prague or Krakow and you could end up paying more than you would to stay somewhere in Berlin.
Coupled with all the free stuff there is to do in the city.
Thanks for the tip! It’s definitely on my list!
